What is that yellow discharge at incision area after appendectomy?
I had my open appendectomy last week. The surgeon told me that the appendix had ruptured so he had to make an EXPLORE LAP (incision from inch down the navel to groin area about 5 inches).
While recovering there are yellowish discharge similar to pus coming from one of the stitches. The intern cut two stitches to squeeze these fluids out of my belly.
This happened twice. Everytime I remove my abdominal binder, yellow fluids soak my gauge.
It is pus. Make sure you are taking your antibiotics and take them until you have no more.
